Useful Information

  • P.E. days are on Fridays. The children should wear their tracksuits on this day. 

  • Irish dancing takes place every Thursday. The children should leave their dancing shoes (plimsolls) in school if possible, to ensure they are not forgotten. Please label shoes clearly.

  • Recorder takes place every Wednesday. The children should ensure they have their recorders and books packed every day as they will need to practise with their class teacher also.

Art / Google Classroom

In March, we asked that you would make some sea creatures from household plastics you might have available.  If you did make something and you still have it, we would love to see it.  Take a photo of your sea creature(s) and turn in the photo to google classroom by Thursday 25th June.  Hold on to your creature until the end of August as we will be inviting you to drop them into school then as they will be used in our whole school art exhibition.

Order of Operations, p.154, Complete question 3 (i, j, k, l). Remember we must do multiplication before addition and subtraction. Refer again to the yellow box. It might be useful to put brackets around the two numbers that need to be multiplied before completing the sum.

MONDAY 29th 

 

Sport's Day

Monday the 29th of June is Virtual Sports Day. Sports activities can be accessed on the following website: https://www.ecsligo.ie/  and then by clicking on ‘Virtual Sports Day Tutorial'.

There are 6 activities to choose from or you can give them all a try! The activities include Running, Throwing, Kicking, Landing, Traditional Sports Day and Balancing.  As 6th class pupils, you might like to choose Activity level 3, Senior level.  Give some of the activities a go and have fun!

 

 

TUESDAY 30th

 

Google Classroom: Whole Class Discussion/Chat on Google Stream

Tuesday 30th of June is our last school day before the summer holidays begin.  As it will be your last day in 6th class, and your final day in St. Columba’s, I will open up Google Classroom chat so that you can say goodbye to your 6th class friends.

The chat stream will be open from 11am to 11:40am.  I hope as many of you as possible will join in to say goodbye to your fellow classmates.

Well done again for the fantastic efforts you have put into your work over the last few months. I want to wish you all every happiness and success in your future. You have done yourselves proud. Have a fantastic summer break and secondary school experience.
