Green School

Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste.

Our Infant classes did some work to help them develop their knowledge and understanding of the world. They learned that many different countries make up our world and that these countries have people living in them that have their own customs and traditions and that some are similar to our own and others are different. They also learnt that we have family and friends that live in or have visited these countries.

The older classes also took at close look at the family connections they had with other countries. We marked them on a map of the world. It helped us see more clearly just how much we are connected and that we really are global citizens.

Christmas Junk Art Competition.

Just before we closed for the Christmas holidays the Green School Committee ran a Christmas themed junk art competition. We were inundated with entries and we were blown away by the standard. Above in our gallery you can see photos of our talented winners and examples of some of the fantastic entries.

When Santa turned Green

As part of our Green School work the Infants read and discussed the story "When Santa turned Green" by Vistoria Perla. They had fun making Green Santa's too! :O)

Climate Action Week

Ireland’s fifth Climate Action Week ran from October 11th to 17th 2021, so to mark it we renewed our efforts to take little actions to be a Green School and to do our bit to combat Climate Change.

Take a look at some of the activities we as a school got up to! :O)

Remember small changes can make BIG differences!

Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste.

Having received our 5th Green Flag for Biodiversity, Ms. McGee, Ms Horan, Ms Barret, Ms Gallagher and the Green Schools Committee are ready to get to work on guiding the school through the next theme - Global Citizenship: Litter and Waste.

We will be learning about how our work on the Green Schools Programme has a positive impact globally.

Please check back for updates on how you can support your child.
